The project comprised 449 schools, introducing human rights documentaries to educators and students. One of the project’s results was the production of a new promotional video.
The Network team invited Kateryna Hornostai, well-known Ukrainian director and Shevchenko Prize winner, to work on the video. This is not the first time Kateryna cooperates with the DOCU/CLUB Network. In the spring of 2024, she already made a video about our community and the work of our moderators. Being satisfied with the results, we invited the filmmaker to work with us again.
The video was filmed in November in two schools in Kyiv – the BerkoShko and the Specialized School № 52. Both schools have joined the School DOCU/WEEK for the first time. Thanks to their active and enthusiastic teachers, children from these schools were able to watch documentaries and discuss them with their peers. Kateryna Hornostai captured some of these discussions with her camera.
While watching the video, the viewers will “look inside” the school classrooms and hear schoolchildren’s feedback on human rights documentaries and reflections inspired by them. Teachers in the video also share their thoughts on the impact of documentary films on schoolchildren and their conclusions about their participation in the School DOCU/WEEK.
The DOCU/CLUB Network team plans to use this video to expand its cooperation with educational institutions and encourages its moderators to distribute it among educators, parents, and everyone working with our youths.
