Russian propaganda constantly attempts to shift the blame for its war crimes onto Ukrainians. One such crime is the terrorist attack in Olenivka. On the night of July 28–29, 2022, an explosion destroyed the building where Russians were holding Ukrainian prisoners of war. We are unable to gather testimony from those who were in that building — they are either still in captivity or have died. Russia allowed no one access to the crime scene except its propagandists, but that does not mean we must trust their materials.

This film is composed of testimonies from soldiers who were also held in captivity in Olenivka, interviews with the families of those still awaiting the return of their loved ones, and the few pieces of media footage from Mariupol captured by eyewitnesses.
