“Moshchun: How the Invasion Began” is a documentary by the War Archive that preserves the firsthand memories of residents of the village of Moshchun in the Kyiv region about the first weeks of Russia’s full-scale invasion. The film’s protagonists recall the battles for Hostomel, the shelling of their home village, helping Ukrainian soldiers, evacuating civilians, losing loved ones, and returning to the liberated Moshchun, which had to be rebuilt after widespread destruction and demining.
