Khottabych is a former steelworker and CFO. After the Maidan, he fought in the ATO zone as a volunteer with the 1st battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine. In the course of one year at war, Ilya Lysenko, nicknamed Khottabych, managed to create a team of five crews that evacuated the wounded from the frontline. Volunteer medics from Khottabych's team have repeatedly come under fire, traveled to terrorist-controlled territory, and risked their own lives to save wounded soldiers.
